Webinar: Implementing and Scaling Telemedicine at an AMC: The Mass General

This webinar will provide an overview of Mass General’s telehealth services and its experience implementing virtual care in an AMC setting. The discussion will address some of the challenges encountered and lessons learned by Mass General as it looked to scale its telehealth programs. The webinar will explore the current national and local telemedicine landscape including the legal, regulatory and financial considerations when developing and expanding telemedicine programs.

Presenters: Marcy Simoni & Denise Curran

Marcy Simoni is the Director of Virtual Visits at Mass General Center for TeleHealth where she oversees Virtual Visits and is responsible for the overall strategy and implementation of its programs. Marcy previously worked as a healthcare consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers where she advised healthcare systems and government organizations on operational performance improvement, business transformation and digital health strategies. She is passionate about leveraging innovation to redesign the way care is traditionally delivered for providers and patients. Marcy holds a Master’s of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Denise Curran is the Program Director of Virtual Consults at Mass General Center for TeleHealth where she is responsible for identifying physician-to-physician telehealth clinical consultative opportunities. In collaboration with TeleNeurology and Network Development teams, Denise is expanding synchronous and asynchronous telehealth-enabled program offerings. Prior to joining the TeleHealth Team, Denise worked as a program leader in a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals, physician practices and system contracting networks. Denise is eager to utilize telehealth technology to expand access to MGH’s specialty clinical expertise. Denise earned her master’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota.
