Successfully delivering healthcare has never been more dependent on our ability to utilize information technology, data and analytics. New technologies hold great promise in our pursuit of the healthcare triple aim of improving the patient experience (including quality and satisfaction), the health of populations and reducing the per capita cost of care. But they also pose significant challenges and risk – especially when it comes to cybersecurity. There are few easy answers and many competing interests. In this webinar, we will explore how robust collaboration between stakeholders in operations, strategy and IT leads to approaches that promote flexibility in organizational strategy while maintaining security.

Presenters: Dave Levin, MD & Michael D’Arezzo

Dave Levin, MD is a physician, executive and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in healthcare, information technology and innovation. He also has extensive venture advisory experience and works with both investors and portfolio companies. He Levin has broad healthcare experience including leadership roles in enterprise health IT, health plans and hospitals. He currently the Chief Medical & Information Officer for Phlow USA, an innovative pharmaceutical manufacturer focused on ensuring essential medicines are available to all who need them. Previously, he served as Chief Medical Information Officer for the Cleveland Clinic where he was responsible for clinical information systems world-wide.

Dr. Levin is a life-long entrepreneur having founded multiple companies and advised many others. Most recently, Dr. Levin co-founded and served as Chief Medical Officer for Datica (formerly Sansoro Health), a digital health company focused on cloud-based integration and compliance services for healthcare. An active venture-stage investor and advisor, Dave currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of 757 Angels, on the Board of Managers for RiverFlow Growth Fund, the LP Advisory Boards for NaviMed Capital and New Richmond Ventures and as a mentor at 757Accellerate. He also serves on the Board of Directors for multiple non-profit organizations.

Dr. Levin is a nationally recognized speaker and has appeared in diverse forums including academic, industry and consumer media and is the host of “4×4 Health,” a podcast that highlights innovative leaders and ideas in healthcare.

Michael D’Arezzo is the Director of Security Services at CISSP, CISA. Michael is known for his strong track record of operational excellence, innovative problem solving, and regulatory compliance expertise. He brings with him over 20 years of experience of supporting clients and environments from small practices and businesses to large enterprises. At GE, AMF and MICROS/Oracle he had a strong focus on driving standards, consistency, performance, compliance and regulatory affairs.

Today, Michael leads the team of security consultants and supports clients by developing secure operations, policies, and identifying vulnerabilities in configuration in the network and processes, review of daily operations and existing controls to identify potential risk and resolve, mitigate or create compensating controls. Other responsibilities include executing penetration testing, vulnerability scans, perform audits against industry developed or internal controls, and reviewing business processes and creating security improvements for clients and ePlus. Michael is responsible for assisting clients in developing transparent and secure programs for Information Technology and developing Security and Governance, Risk and Compliance programs. His project experience includes:

  • Security Consulting for HIPAA/HITRUST, DFARS/CMMC, PCI Compliance, CJIS, FERPA, NIST, CISA, CIS Benchmark, and State regulatory frameworks
  • Development of Third-Party Risk infrastructure for Fortune 10
  • Creation of operational standards and process improvement consulting
  • Implement Business Continuity/ Disaster Recovery program for multiple clients
  • Development of Security Programs including Patch Management and Vulnerability Management in alignment with NIST standards
  • Managed software programming staff for new software development and professional services
    Communicate security risks to client board members and assist in developing remediation strategy
