On November 5, 2024, the American public will choose a President, a new Congress, and (indirectly) shape future Federal Courts. The election results in each of these federal branches have potentially profound implications for providers, patients, and public health. This 1-hour session will review the policy differences on the ballot this fall.
Presenter: Sarah Fontenot
Sarah Fontenot is both a nurse (University of Vermont BSN 1978) and lawyer (UCONN Law School, 1990), and earned the designation “Certified Professional Speaker” (CSP®) from the National Speakers Association in 2014.
Last December, and after 26 years, Sarah retired from her position as the Adjunct Health Law Professor for MHA students at Trinity University (San Antonio); before moving to Texas, she taught for two years in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at Yale University.
Ms. Fontenot speaks across the country to provider organizations about the law and policy of health care and teaches extensively for the American College of Healthcare Executives [ACHE] (joining their faculty in 2007).
Ms. Fontenot proudly served on the Board of Directors of Peterson Health in Kerrville, Texas (2012 – 2021), the Committee on Governance at the American Hospital Association (2019 – 2022) and is currently the Chair of the Board for the Austin Child Guidance Center.
Although she remains a proud Yankee through and through, Sarah and her husband just marked the end of their 29th year living in Fredericksburg, a small town in Central Texas (population 11,072).
