Vice President, Regional Alliances

How long have you worked at Boston Children’s Hospital?
8 years

What stage in your career are in you?
Mid-careerist

What are your rewards of your job?
I am so fortunate to work with an amazing, compassionate group of individuals dedicated to improving the health care all children receive around the world.

What are your challenges?
It is so hard to meet the growing behavioral health care needs of our children and adolescents.

What has been your most meaningful project?
Seeing kids grow into healthy young adults all because of the care they received from Boston Children’s Hospital and knowing that I played a small role in that.

How did you decide to have a career in the healthcare industry?
When I graduated college I did not know that there were so many opportunities to work in healthcare without providing clinical care. I found it so valuable to meet with people in the industry, hear about their experiences, and try to imagine whether I would enjoy working in those roles.

What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
Find a career that makes you happy and do not give up until you find it. It is out there.

What’s the best career advice you’ve given?
Don’t compare yourself to others that you think are doing it all (work, family, etc). Instead, find the balance that works best for you.

What has contributed to your success?
Amazing mentors who believed in me.

How long have you been an NESHS member?
3 years

How has NESHS membership helped you?
NESHS has not only connected me to other members that facing the same challenges as me, but has also provided me a space where I can learn more from experts around the country on current health care challenges and strategies to address them.

What’s on your bucket list?
Visit all 50 states before I am 50. I have four states left to go!

What was your childhood dream?
To become a child psychologist

Guilty pleasure: what can you not live without?
Sweet potato fries

What was the most interesting place you have traveled to?
Tofo, Mozambique
