WEBINAR: Optimizing the Strategic Value of Ambulatory Assets

Under new leadership, Inova Health System has embarked on a fundamental reorientation of the organization, transforming from a hospital-centric system of five independent hospitals to a service-line and care model-oriented, optimized delivery system. In this session, we will discuss how clarity of Inova’s mission and strategic direction led to a network development framework that significantly redefined the role and constitution of ambulatory care and assets in the System, and how this new direction shaped the decisions made about a recent ambulatory care project.

Presenters: Ann Huston & Tracy Johnson

Ann Huston serves as Senior Strategy Advisor for Inova Health System, working with leadership to set and drive Inova’s strategic direction and transformation.

Ann has over 30 years of health care experience with expertise in strategy development and execution, transformation, strategic transactions, and operating model design. With over 20 years in various consulting roles, including Partner at Ernst and Young and now again as the President of her independent consultancy, Ann has worked with many leading U.S. health systems. Most recently, she served as Chief Strategy Officer for Cleveland Clinic.

Ann holds a Master of Health Science in Health Finance and Management from The Johns Hopkins University.

Tracy K. Johnson, FACHE, is the founder of TKJohnson Consulting and has nearly 30 years of health care consulting experience. Tracy has focused her career on helping academic medical centers, community and specialty hospitals, and physician practices to effectively integrate strategic and clinical business planning into facility planning, resulting in more strategic and cost‐effective facility solutions. Her expertise has enabled hundreds of providers to optimize their capital investments and position their facilities for success in the evolving health care market place.

Tracy has a B.S. and M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
