Chris Councilor

Vice President, Health System Strategy

How long have you worked at PatientPoint?
4 years

What stage in your career are in you?
Mid-careerist

What are your rewards of your job?
I get to help health systems communicate and educate patients to improve their health and keep them safe. I also get to travel to great cities and meet with amazing clients. That part has been on hold since March 2020, but I hope to get back on the road in 2021!

What are your challenges?
Paperwork, logistics, red-tape, legal, IT, compliance, etc.

What has been your most meaningful project?
Seeing a mammogram awareness campaign roll out across the country in hundreds of clinics resulting in a double-digit increase in screenings.

How did you decide to have a career in the healthcare industry?
Seeing the beginning of the digital transformation in 2008, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of.

What’s the best career advice you’ve received?
Don’t try to sell people. Try to help with people’s challenges.

How has NESHS membership helped you?
I’ve learned a ton and I’ve met some of the greatest people.

What’s on your bucket list?
Taking a year-long RV trip around the country.

Guilty pleasure: what can you not live without?
Live music (it’s been a tough year).

What was the most interesting place you have traveled to OR your favorite trip?
Since airline travel has stopped for me, I recently bought an RV so we’ve taken it to Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and lots of great spots, including the beaches and all around Florida.
