Don Seymour - NESHS 2010 Healthcare Strategist of the Year
Several years ago, the Society developed this award to recognize the contributions and achievements of its members based on the following criteria:
• Provided outstanding performance in the areas of healthcare strategy, business and network development and physician relations.
• Mentored colleagues beginning their careers or assisted colleagues with their work or career issues.
• Conducted himself or herself with the highest ethical and professional standards.
This year, the membership of NESHS has made a superb recommendation for an outstanding individual who truly exemplifies each of these attributes.
It is a pleasure to give this award to Don Seymour. Many of us have known and worked with Don for many years. While Don is a nationally known figure and recognized thought leader in healthcare strategy, his roots are really in New England.
For those of you don’t know Don, let me provide a brief snap shot of his career and contributions to health care strategy . . .

Long recognized as an expert among his peers, senior leaders and hospital trustees, Don has demonstrated solid leadership within the industry in bringing keen market insights, new thinking and challenges to the status quo.
Don is a frequent presenter on a variety of subjects related to senior leadership in health care organizations, and continually contributes his leadership strengths and industry knowledge to professional associations and educational institutes. Here is just a sample:
