Board Member Bios - Christine Gallery

Christine Gallery has been working in healthcare for over 14 years. Currently, she is the Vice President of Planning and Market Development at Emerson Hospital in Concord, Massachusetts where she has worked since 1996. In this position, Christine has overall responsibility for developing programs that ensure the continued growth of hospital services. She leads the strategic planning efforts of the organization through the Strategic Planning Committee of the Board of Directors. She develops marketing strategy for the hospital (including marketing communications, public relations and web site development) which supports the mission, vision and goals set forth in the strategic plan, improves the image of the hospital and increases patient volume.

While at Emerson, Christine was responsible for the development of three off-site health centers of the hospital, located in Westford, Sudbury and Groton. Since the opening, the centers have exceeded projections of volume and resulted in increased market share for Emerson. In addition, Christine has developed relationships with academic medical centers in specific clinical areas, such as OB/GYN, pediatrics and cancer services, which have strengthened the delivery of care at Emerson and resulted in increased market share. She negotiated and now oversees the collaborative program between Emerson's Bethke Cancer Center and Dana Farber/Partners Cancer Care as well as a joint venture with Mass General Hospital for Emerson's radiation oncology program.

Emerson Hospital is a 170-bed premier community hospital serving 220,000 individuals in 25 towns. Emerson is well known for its medical and surgical specialists, outstanding nursing care and patient-centered services including the Birthing Center, the Bethke Cancer Center and the Polo Emergency Center.

Before working at Emerson Hospital, Christine was the Director of Physician Network Development at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton, where she led efforts to expand the primary care network for the hospital through practice acquisition and the development of off-site health centers.

Christine received a B.A. in Political Science from the College of the Holy Cross and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and an Associate in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
