Domenic A. DeCristofano currently holds the position of Executive Director of Facilities Management for CharterCARE Health Partners. In this role he is responsible for Hospital Safety, Plant Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Radiation Safety, Food and Nutrition, Environmental Services, Security, Space Planning, Facility Master Planning and Construction Planning.
Mr. DeCristofano's health care background also includes extensive experience in facilitating hospital strategic planning processes at all levels of management as well as program development. He has been instrumental in developing many key hospital programs and services which include Radiation Therapy, Nursing Home, Home Care, Subacute Care, Sleep Lab, Geriatric Psychiatry, Dual Diagnosis Unit, Physician Liaison Program, Hospitalist Program, Physician Hospital Organization (PHO), as well as Rhode Island's only Bone Marrow Transplant program. Additionally, he has authored over 12 Certificate of Need applications for the Medical Center, all of which were approved by the Rhode Island Department of Health.
Mr. DeCristofano was also a key player in the establishment of CharterCARE Health System which includes the affiliation of Roger Williams Medical Center and St. Joseph's Health Services of Rhode Island. This involved the analysis of appropriate affiliation partners in the area, as well as the regulatory approvals necessary to move forward.
Mr. DeCristofano has been a guest speaker at Providence College in their Health Care Administration Program and most recently at Brown University as a panelist in their Business in Healthcare Course for Medical Students.
Mr. DeCristofano has over thirty years of health care related experience and is also licensed by the Department of Health as a Nursing Home Administrator. He received a B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering from Roger Williams University, is a Board Member of the Rhode Island Blood Center, the Roger Williams PHO and a member of the Rhode Island Leadership Council of the American Cancer Society. He is also an active member of the American College of Health Care Administrators. |
